Ash Spanish Oak has a faded light brown color and is suitable for muted, dark décor or rustic designs.
Although similar to white oak or hickory, ash has a slight yellow hue. The sapwood is a light, creamy color, while the heartwood ranges from light tan to deep brown. The grain pattern of ash is bold and straight, with occasional waves. The classic cathedral grain in plain sawn boards is evidence of the growth ring after the board is sawn.
Even though appearance is important, ash wide plank flooring offers above-average durability and dimensionally stability. When investing in a wood it makes sense to seek out a durable one! Ash is the most common wood species used in MLB-regulation baseball bats—if this wood can undertake a 99 mile-per-hour fastball, you can be sure it will withstand anything, like temperature and humidity changes.
