  • Eastern white pine is a knotty species that can bring a room back to colonial times.

Wide plank pine floors were the typical floor covering of choice for early American settlers — and with good reason. Eastern white pine is a relatively sustainable species because it grows rapidly and abundantly in the eastern United States.

Historically cut from large swaths of the tree, white pine floors harken back to another time.

Eastern white pine wide plank flooring will amplify a room’s rustic appeal. This species typically contains a lot of knots and character markings. As the years go on, the floors will show wear and tear — more so than harder species of wood — which further contributes to the traditional style of the floors.
