On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, Wide Plank Floor Supply will host two complimentary Bona training events designed for architects and interior designers who are looking to learn more about incorporating wood flooring into their projects. Session 1 will take place at 12:00 PM with a box lunch provided, and Session 2 take place at 5:00 PM with wine and cheese provided. Each of these courses will be one-hour sessions. The course will benefit industry professionals who are looking to make more informed decisions about flooring recommendations for their clients, with a focus on high-end residential architects and interior designers.
These training sessions will also allow industry professionals earn professional credits to help them sustain their membership of professional organizations. Credits will be available for AIA, ASID, and IDCEC members taking this course.
AIA: 1 LU hours, 1 HSW credit
IDCEC: 1 hours with 0.1 CEU credits
This course will go over some questions which interior designers and architects frequently come across, such as when you should recommend a hardwood floor installation or replacement to your client, what types of hardwood flooring are available, and what the sanding and finishing process looks like.
Whether or not you should attend depends on your level of involvement with clients. Architects who focus on engineering, for example, wouldn’t benefit from this as much as those architects who work directly with interior designers, home builders, and homeowners. Interior designers who help clients reach decisions about which flooring to choose would benefit from this event.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions after each session.
There will also be Bona Certified Craftsmen in attendance. These are hardwood floor contractors who have been certified by Bona after they have been trained in hardwood floor installation and finishing techniques. There are 60,000 people installing, sanding, and finishing hardwood floors in North America. Bona has certified less than 1% of these individuals. The projects involving Bona Certified Craftsmen have a higher likelihood of being completed exceptionally well. This event will give you the opportunity to make connections with these contractors.
These training sessions will also give you a great opportunity to network and make connections with other professionals in your industry.
